Rainier Valley Food Stories Cookbook

A culinary history of the Rainier Valley going back 100 years with recipes and stories from our multicultural community.

This project began with a two-year multicultural oral history project based on food, using Rainier Beach High School students and adult volunteers as interviewers. We wanted to use the universal topic of food to reach out to the many different ethnic and cultural groups in the Rainier Valley. We also worked with teen photographers from Youth in Focus to document some of the stories we uncovered.
